Baba's Trail (2008)

Following the death of his mother, 10-year-old BABA becomes one of the 2 million AIDS orphans in Malawi. He manages to find shelter in an orphanage, but when a European couple visiting the country decides to adopt him, Baba runs away. As he roams the country on his own, Baba makes friends with eleven-year-old JO, a refugee child from Liberia. Baba and Jo team up with a gang of street kids in Blantyre, who give them food and shelter in exchange for odd jobs and errands.

QUOTES

" I just worked on a low budget indie film in Malawi, Africa. It was not "fancy" at all, but it was so much fun and i really got to see a lot of the country and bonded with great people." - Zoo Magazine (No 18 Cinema issue)

" I‘ve just been to Malawi for a film project. (...) With Wolfgang Panzer who made “Broken Silence”. He asked if I wanted to jump on board. More than anything, I did it because of the country. I‘d never been to Africa before." - QVEST, Feb/March 2008
